What Does It Take to Pass the Learner’s Test in Victoria?

When hoping to get a license to drive a vehicle in Victoria, we all have to go through the learner’s test. It may be cumbersome, but that’s the rule. Fortunately, you won’t find it impossible to pass if you’re committed to studying. It’s what you need (along with other tests) to get your coveted driver’s license. Hence, we all must endure it.

Below are the things you need to pass the learners test VIC:

First, you need to know the road rules. This is so you’ll have a basic understanding of how Victoria roads work.

Second, get at least six hours of on-road experience with your driving instructor or supervisor. If you don’t have any experience, then it’s best that you take a training course that will give you enough practice and confidence behind the wheel.

Third, follow the road rules strictly. This is in preparation for your driving test, which will be tougher with stricter examiners. Never commit pass-fail offences like speeding or failing to stop at a red light. Passing your learner’s test should not even be stressful because you’ll get used to it as you go along.

Which Tests Will Be Taken by a Learner’s Driver in Victoria?

If you’re not aware, there are three tests that the learner’s driver will take: the learners test VIC, the driving test and finally, the road rules test. These tests will need to be mastered before getting your license. The Victoria learner’s test is the first of the three tests that you’ll need to accomplish.

Learners permit test

You will also be tested on your knowledge of Victoria road rules for you to get your learners permit. You will have to answer a minimum number of questions that are based on road signs and safety regulations.

You have to make a grade of at least 80% for you to be given your learners permit.

Driving test

In Victoria, the driving test will need the learner’s driver to drive for about 20 minutes with an examiner, and he’ll evaluate your skill and road safety awareness. Another thing is that there are no pre-set questions. What you need to do is answer whatever question may come up during the test.

On the other hand, the road rules test has a total of 14 multiple choice questions that you will have to answer within 20 minutes.  This shows that it’s not impossible to get a learner permit in Victoria. It is only challenging to prepare well for the exam and learn more about road rules like the signs or stopping at pedestrian signals.

The Victoria learners test may be complex, but you won’t find it impossible to pass. How do you ask? If you’re willing to prepare in advance for your test, then it’s only a matter of time until you’ll get that license and go out on the road without supervision.
